Gulf Shores, AL is a tightly knit community that hosts a number of special events throughout the year which attract both residents and tourists to the town. Here are some of the many annual events you will find while visiting the Gulf Shores area:

Mardi Gras Parade

Mid-February or beginning of March, in accordance with the Mardi Gras celebration.
Location: Clubhouse Drive traveling down Highway 59 and ending at Gulf Shores Main Beach. You do not have to travel to New Orleans to take part in the lively Mardi Gras festival. Gulf Shores annual Mardi Gras Parade has enough energy and activities to provide you will all of the excitement you will need. This event is free to the public.

Hangout Music Festival

Third Weekend in May
Location: 101 East Beach Boulevard
Time: Noon until 11:00 PM Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
Shuttles to and from the event are available for a fee. There is a general admission charge to get into the festival. While there you will enjoy a variety of music from many different bands that will perform on 4 different stages.

Lighted Christmas Parade

First Friday in December
Time: Parade begins at 6:30 PM
Location: Starting Route begins at Clubhouse Drive and travels along Highway 59 to Gulf Shores Public Beach
The event features festive floats that are decked out in the finest light displays imaginable. The event is free for the public. This is a family style event that provides fun and entertainment for the entire family. There are activities including light displays, pictures with Santa, holiday style treats, craft stations, a live nativity, and more that follow the parade.

Annual Christmas Open House

Second Thursday in December
Location: Various locations around the city
Time 7:30 PM
Enjoy the Gulf Shores Annual Christmas Open House with activities, holiday treats, entertainment, and more at locations including the David L. Bodenhamer Recreation Center, Gulf Shores Museum, South Baldwin Community Theater, and Thomas B. Norton Public Library. The celebration starts out with the arrival of Santa at the Erie H. Meyer Civic Center. This is a free event for the family.

Breakfast with Santa

Location: Erie H. Meyer Civic Center
Time: 8:00 AM
Cost: $5 for Adults - Children 3 and under are free
Enjoy a hearty breakfast with Santa and help get him prepared for the Christmas delivery. Guests will enjoy a breakfast that includes eggs, pancakes, sausage, bacon, beverages, and more. Before leaving have your picture taken with Santa and don't forget to give him any last minute requests.

New Year's Eve Beach Bash

Location: Gulf State Park Pavilion
Time: 8:00 PM
Ring in the New Year in beach style. Enjoy a large bonfire complete with s'mores, various entertainment events hosted by a live DJ, and two fireworks displays.
