MINUTES OF COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE WORK SESSION

 

CITY OF GULF SHORES, ALABAMA

 

DECEMBER 5, 2005

 

 

The City Council of the City of Gulf Shores, Alabama, met in Committee of the Whole work session on December 5, 2005, at 2:00 p.m., with Mayor Duke presiding.  The meeting was held at Gulf Shores City Hall.

 

The following members were present:  Councilmen Garris, Doughty, Harris, Craft, Jones and Mayor Duke.

 

The meeting was called to order.  The Council discussed general business to include:

 

1.  Chase Tatham – 2006 Red Snapper World Championship

2.  Councilman Doughty – Concerned with roadside litter, streetlights that are not operating, and overall beautification of the City.

3.  Councilman Garris – Legislation Proposed by Orange Beach Fishing Association

4.  Site Plan – Island Interiors

5.  Discussion – Extended Stay Facility Parking Requirements

6.  Zoning Amendments – Plash Island I Legal Descriptions; Use of Residential Zoned Sites for Beach or Lagoon Access

7.  White Properties – Conservation Easement

8.  Temporary Certificate of Occupancy for Blonde John’s

9.  Bid Info – Utility Vehicle

10. Acceptance of Streets – Ashton Court & Jordan Court

11. BFI Franchise

12. Need for curbing in new subdivisions.

13. Proposed policy on interpretation of definition of site size for proposed PUD projects fronting on Mobile Bay and Bon Secour Bay.

14. Public Input Session – Possible Temporary Moratorium on Certain Projects in BG (general business) and CD (commercial) Districts

 

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 5:20 p.m.
